Comprehensive renovation of an apartment in the historic area

Location: Santiago de Compostela
Property: Privada
Year: 2025
Definition:

The apartment, located on the first floor of a multi-family building on Rúa do Castro 7 in Santiago de Compostela, had a poorly functional layout and showed habitability deficits due to its outdated installations and aging structures. To improve its conditions, a renovation was carried out, which included redistributing the space to create a living area with an integrated kitchen, a bedroom, a study, and a bathroom. The wooden structure was reinforced, and the floors were leveled, in addition to improving thermal and acoustic insulation with rock wool and plasterboard on façades and partition walls. The exterior wooden carpentry was restored, and new interior shutters were installed. Plumbing, sanitation, electrical heating, and electrical installations were completely renewed. The kitchen was equipped with modern furniture and a marble countertop, combining functionality and aesthetics. This intervention improved the home's energy efficiency and comfort while preserving its original character and complying with the regulations of the PE-1 Special Plan of Santiago de Compostela.
